Charles Booth and Other Notable People.
On 26 November at the community centre we held an event called Charles Booth and Other Notable People. This free exhibition and slide show focused on Charles Booth and Whitwick, Measham, Ibstock, Ravenstone, Coalville and Newbold history groups talking about notable people from their areas.
Then on Monday, 31st October, on BBC2 was a continuation of the programme called Victorian Slums. The programme talks about the work of Charles Booth and about all the things he did to try to help the poor, especially in the East End of London (as this is where the programme focused).
